STATUS OF THE EUROPEAN STRATEGY - YEARLY REPORT

The Council took note of the yearly status report on the European Strategy for Particle Physics presented by the Scientific Secretary, Professor Stapnes, and unanimously decided to approve the Strategy follow-up points set out in Chapter 6 of the document as priorities for the coming year.

The Council further agreed that the document, as amended to take account of the remarks of the ApPEC representative and the SPC, could be made publicly available on the European Strategy website.

 

REPORT FROM THE TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER NETWORK

The Council took note of the progress and programme of work of the TT Network, presented by the TTN convenor, Mr Le Goff, and of the comments by delegations during the discussion, in particular of the suggestion that a study be made of the lessons learned from procurement and technology transfer during the LHC construction period.

The Council further noted that a status report on technology transfer activities at CERN would be submitted to the Council in March 2011.

 

REPORT FROM THE EUROPEAN PARTICLE PHYSICS COMMUNICATION NETWORK

The Council took note of the report from the European particle physics communication network presented by its convenor, Mr Gillies.
It further took note of the invitation to appoint language representatives for each Member State and Communication Network representatives for the four States with vacant seats, namely Bulgaria, Israel, Russia and Turkey.

The Council further noted that a status report on technology transfer activities at CERN would be submitted to the Council in March 2011.
