REPORT BY THE SCIENTIFIC SECRETARY

The Council took note of the oral report by the Scientific Secretary, notably on a forthcoming EU seventh framework call relevant for detector R&D for the LHC upgrade and for future linear colliders.

REPORT ON THE FALC MEETING HELD IN MADRID ON 19 JANUARY 2009

The Council took note of the oral report by the President of Council and of the views expressed by delegations during the discussion, notably regarding the possible participation of Russia in future meetings of FALC.

DRAFT MOU WITH THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION

The Council took note of the document, expressed its strong appreciation of the general approach and content, and urged the President of Council and the Director-General to finalize the negotiation to achieve the needed reciprocity.

The Council agreed on the procedure, for implementation of Article 7 of the draft Memorandum of Understanding regarding the “points of contact”.

The Council took note of the report by the Director-General and the Chairman of ECFA.
