The European strategy for particle physics
The CERN Council, in a special meeting held on 14th of July 2006 in Lisbon, agreed on the first European Strategy for Particle Physics. The following documents were produced at that time: Strategy Statement, Discussion Document and Brochure.
The Strategy adopted in 2006 has now been superseded by the updated Strategy adopted by the Council in its European Strategy Session in Brussels on 30 May 2013. The updated Strategy is defined by one preamble and 17 statements described in the Strategy Statement paper approved by the Council. The Deliberation Paper produced by the European Strategy Group describes the rationale behind the Strategy Statements and some suggestions on organisational matters. On the same occasion, a Brochure was produced by the Communication Group explaining the social relevance of particle physics.
